A CHRISTMAS festival especially for children aged three to 12 comes to Wellington Country Park this month.

The Little Welly, from December 21-23, features entertainment, stalls and activities and five tents full of entertainment.

The Show Tent will feature performances such as The Garlic Theatre’s There’s A Monster In My Piano, demonstrations from CBBC’s Fran Scott plus award-winning Jessie J and Katy Perry tribute acts.

In The Skills Tent, children will have a chance to turn their hand to a selection of fun activities under the watchful eyes of a series of handpicked experts. There will be football coaching from a local club, circus skills, drum workshops and dance lessons.

The Activity Tent is the place to burn off a bit of energy and get involved in action such as the penalty shootout, the graffiti wall, the giant inflatables and den building, or if you are feeling creative you can go to the Arts and Crafts Tent to write letters to Santa, make decorations or test your prowess at flying paper airplanes on the specially made runway. When it’s time to relax, there is also a Chill Out Tent where kids and adults can go to watch classic cartoons or listen to the storyteller.

The Catering Tent will be on hand and full to bursting with tasty winter warmers, hot and cold drinks for the kids and locally sourced beers and wines for the parents.

Father Christmas will be there in his grotto and there will also be an ice rink.

Tickets costing £25 per adult / child are available from thelittlewelly.co.uk. Children under two are admitted free of charge.
