CELEBRITY baking guru Jane Asher has been filming at a well-known Hartley Wintney property.

The top baker and her team took up residence at West Green House for a week as part of her new BBC series Best Bakes Ever.

All 20 episodes of the new series, which started on BBC Two on Monday, use the famous gardens at the historic property as their backdrop.

Jane and the crew ventured into all areas of the gardens during filming.

West Green House’s owner and designer Marylyn Abbott welcomed the location shoot, saying: “We were delighted to be asked to host Best Bakes Ever and really enjoyed having the BBC crew and Jane Asher with us.

“We happened to be particularly lucky with the weather so the garden was ablaze with autumn colour and our tea room provided a particularly appropriate backdrop for many of the shots.”

The gardens of West Green House are open to the public from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am to 4.30pm until October 31.

Entrance to the gardens is free for National Trust members.

A special Apple Day will take place on October 11 to celebrate the abundant 2015 crop.
