A CELEBRITY chef is preparing to launch a pop-up restaurant in Southampton next month.

Marco Pierre White is launching a pop-up eatery at the Grand Harbour Hotel from September 4.

The famous chef will be bringing his Wheeler’s of St James brand to the city until September 20.

The venue will be open to lunch and dinner guests during Southampton Boat Show between September 11 to September 20.

Bosses at Grand Harbour Hotel have also confirmed that the pop-up will be set up next to an al fresco Bottega Prosecco Bar, which will serve a range of cocktails and Prosecco.

Wheeler’s of St James’s is the UK’s oldest fish restaurant brand and the new pop-up venue will serve a selection of its current menu, which includes dishes like Rillettes of Duck with Prunes d’Argen, Ribeye Boston style with Oysters, Maldon Rock Oysters and Wheeler’s Fish Pie.

Marco said: “Southampton is a beautiful harbour city and its rich maritime heritage is a perfect fit with the essence of Wheeler’s.

“We hope it receives a warm welcome from Sotonians and visitors alike.

“It promises to be a special few weeks.”

Laura Roberts, from Grand Harbour Hotel, added: “We have worked incredibly hard to bring Marco and Wheeler’s here at such an important time.

“Wheeler’s is a great brand with an excellent menu that reflects the standards of quality and service we want to achieve here.
