DESIGNER Frances Quinn has been named the winner of BBC Two's The Great British Bake Off.
Frequently criticised by judges Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry for bakes that were "style over substance", the 31-year-old triumphed over Kimberley Wilson and Ruby Tandoh in the final programme of the series.
She impressed the judges with a rainbow picnic pie and three-tiered wedding cake decorated with edible confetti.
