Abram Wilson
A JAZZ event at The Forge in The Anvil has been cancelled after the performer lost his battle with cancer.
Abram Wilson was scheduled to appear on Friday, June 15, but died last week at the age of 38, the day after marrying his long-term partner.
The multi-award winning New Orleans trumpeter, vocalist and composer was one of the country's leading jazz musicians.
With a trumpet style reminiscent of Freddie Hubbard, Miles Davis and Wynton Marsalis, and vocals reminiscent of Sammy Davis Jr and Chet Baker, Wilson was renowned for his gift for storytelling and his passionate, uplifting and inspiring music.
