Popular knitting festival returns to Farnham next week
1:05pm Wednesday 13th February 2013 in Leisure
FARNHAM Maltings’ annual international festival of knitting, unravel, returns on February 23-24.
Featuring a programme of expert talks, live demonstrations, workshops catering to all ages and abilities, as well as a fashion show, unravel is a chance to celebrate this revival. Sponsored by textiles magazine Selvedge and supported by Farnham’s Interknit Café, it offers an unparalleled shopping experience, with 80 companies, both leading retailers and smaller artisan producers, travelling from far and wide to showcase yarn, buttons and knitting accessories.
Experts will be on hand to solve knitting quandaries, and visitors will be encouraged to bring along their creations to the ‘Best in Show’ competition. There will also be a People’s Choice award, giving the festival audience the chance to cast their vote on the pieces on display.
Tickets to unravel, which takes place on Saturday February 23 and Sunday 24, are available in advance until midday on Thursday, February 21 priced £7 for the day, £10 for the weekend. A limited number of door tickets are available priced £9 per day, £12 for the weekend. Under 15s are admitted free of charge.
