THE Winklebury Youth Project’s forthcoming one night only variety show features a talented local line up.

It’s being put together by Basingstoke’s 16 year-old super magician Jake McCormick with help from the project, which was set up by local mum Lea Jeff a number of years ago to give children in the area an informal place to meet up.

Jake will be performing on the night, Saturday, January 12, in the Sycamore Centre, alongside Festival Factor winner Natasha Mulvey, comedy singer Haylie Fox, one of the UK’s best hula-hoopers, a fantastic streetdance act from Surrey plus the very popular band, The Phrase, and many more acts.

The young magician and juggler performs his magic and juggling around the UK in theatres and at other events, and was recently a national finalist in nationwide talent competition Britain Does Variety. He will also be on TV in the new year as the competition was filmed for Sky television.

Jake explained: “I got involved as I usually go to the youth club myself. That's when Lea, who’s the manager, came to me with the idea of a charity variety show.

“I was really excited because I think it’s important to showcase talent in Basingstoke because we do have some very talented performers!"

The show will start at 7pm and a disco afterwards will last until 11.30pm.
Tickets for this full night of entertainment cost just £5, all of which goes to Winklebury Youth Project. They are available on the door or from Jake or Lea. Jake can be contacted via his Facebook page or his Twitter account, @JakeMcCormick1.
