New Basingstoke Writers' Circle anthology launched next week

BASINGSTOKE Writers’ Circle (BWC) officially launch their new travel anthology Destinations...Basingstoke & Beyond on Tuesday, November 27.

The launch will take place in United Reformed Church in London Street from 7.30pm.

The non-profit book is a one-hundred plus page colour and illustrated book containing 27 travel-themed stories, poetry and prose written by members of BWC. Each copy will cost £5 with 25% of the sale price going to local charities.

On the night, BWC will also launch their brand-new website, where there will also be access to an online appendix for Destinations containing eight more items.

Special guest Dave Holby will attend this launch to sign copies, as a poem written to celebrate his world land-row features in the book. A quarter of proceedings on the night – each copy costs £5 - will be donated to Breakthrough Breast Cancer Research, the charity for which, so far, Dave has raised over £22,000.

BWC meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month in United Reformed Church. A typical meeting might include discussion of writing projects, special interest group work, one to one feedback and a regular review of newly written material. These core activities are complemented by inviting along guest speakers - often (local) published authors - who pass on their tips and writing experiences.
