It’s not too late to get a degree

IT IS a truth universally acknowledged that the time invested in studying for a degree or diploma is usually rewarded by improved employment prospects, including promotion and a better salary.

But if you have passed beyond the teenage years and have family and financial responsibilities, it is normally impossible to take a full-time degree course at a university some distance from home.

So how do you gain the knowledge and qualifications to develop your career and compete successfully when in the “middle years”?

The answer is to study locally.

Working in partnership with universities, many further education colleges now offer higher qualifications in ways that allow you to maintain your commitments to family and work. You will also save a small fortune in fees and accommodation expenses.

From September 2009, in partnership with the University of Winchester, BCOT is expanding its higher education programme with new degrees and diplomas.

Indeed, the new foundation degrees in hair and beauty, management with retail and management with logistics and supply chain are particularly helpful for people at work, as they use your employment as the basis for knowledge development and project implementation. BCOT also offers teacher-training qualifications and many HNCs, HNDs and professional business qualifications to help you in your career or personal development.

If you don’t have the entry qualifications for the course you wish to do, the college now offers two new access to higher education courses. It has never been easier to gain a degree or diploma without becoming a full-time student at a faraway place. To see what BCOT can offer you, download the Higher Education Prospectus from www.bcot.ac.uk or follow the links for higher education to view the range of courses now available.

Alternatively, contact the customer services department for a prospectus or more information on 01256 306484.
