THE chance to buy a newly-converted Edwardian home is quickly running out at the Thomas Homes redevelopment of the old Park Prewett hospital buildings.

Only six conversions remain for sale at the developer’s Limes Park site in Basingstoke and they will be completed in time for buyers to move in for Christmas.

Despite the reported property market gloom, all the conversions have sold well and the only available homes left for sale are in Huxley House, the last of the eight Edwardian hospital blocks to be renovated.

Only one four-bedroomed house is available and five three-bedroomed properties. All have high ceilings and bay sash windows and have been designed to create a mix of the old and new.

The four-bedroomed house has 1,247sqft of living space and has been priced at £249,950. There is a 21ft-long living and dining area and the master bedroom features an en suite shower room.

The three-bedroomed houses have a price range of £209,995 to £229,995, with the largest offering 1,118sqft of airy living.

Thomas Homes launched its Limes Park development in the spring of 2007 and set a two-year schedule to complete the site, which has a mix of houses and apartments that consist of 81 converted units and 56 new-builds.

The development was the first of the 96 former NHS hospital sites to be sold by English Partnerships and was bought by Thomas Homes in a £9.5million deal.

The selling agent for the development is Connells in Basingstoke and Thomas Homes is offering various packages, including EasyStart and Part Exchange.
