Strike causes school closures

NEARLY 40 schools in The Gazette area will either close or partially close tomorrow because of the public sector strike.

Unions representing around three million workers across the UK have voted to strike tomorrow in protest against the Government’s pension reforms. With all the major teaching unions voting for industrial action, the strike will affect many schools, some of which have announced they will be shut for the entire day.

In The Gazette area, six secondary schools have announced they will close; while two more will partially close.

There will be 25 infant, junior or primary schools fully closing and a further five partially closing. See below for the full list or visit hants.gov.uk/education/schoolclosures for further details.
