Poor Town lose again

BASINGSTOKE Town's miserable run of form in the Blue Square South continued at the Camrose on Monday afternoon, Bath City recording a comfortable 4-0 win.

Bath striker Dave Gilroy opened the scoring after 10 minutes, lobbing the ball over Town 'keeper Nick Jones after being put through and added a second in an very similar fashion soon after. Former Bristol Rovers captain Lewis Hogg added a third just before the half-an-hour mark.

Bath took their foot off the gas in the second half but Basingstoke were unable to get on the scoresheet. Gilroy completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with two minutes to go after Ben Wells was penalised for a foul on Steve Jones.
