THERE was a sad start to our February meeting when we remembered a much-loved former secretary, Carol Steptoe, who died recently.
Many of us were able to attend her memorial service in St Mary’s Church.
Looking forward to March: Our 92nd birthday meeting is on Tuesday, March 1 when Reverend Mrs J Bentall’s subject will be “Growing Older (Dis)gracefully.” The meeting starts at 7.30pm in the Parish Room.
On Saturday, March 12, we will be holding our annual jumble sale in Old Basing Village Hall from 2pm when enthusiastic bargain-seekers will be able to choose from selections of clothes, linen, books, cakes and even have a well-earned cuppa!
