Old Basing WI

NOVEMBER is an important month in our WI when we have traditionally held our AGM, reflected on the events of the year and chosen our new committee.

This year was somewhat different in that Hampshire WIs have agreed to change our year-end and, thus, the month for our AGM to May.

So our new committee (including a new president) will serve until May 2012 – phew!

However, once we had dealt with the necessary business, we could look forward to our next event which was a trip to The Haymarket to see BATS production of Beauty and the Beast – an excellent evening thoroughly enjoyed by the 20 or so members who went.

Our last meeting for this year was on Tuesday, December 7, when the subject of the talk was “Petticoat Pilot” – sounds interesting.

Talking of Christmas, we will be participating in the Christmas Tree Festival at St Mary’s Church, Old Basing, over the weekend of December 18 and 19, when our tree will be decorated with a WI theme – do come along and see.

New members are always welcome, so why not come along and try us on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm in the Parish Room, Old Basing.
