AT their December meeting, Oakley and Deane WI members were greeted with mulled wine and nibbles and were then entertained by Gwen Appleton with anecdotes, poetry, jokes and a quiz, all with a seasonal theme.

Many members enjoyed a Christmas lunch the following day at The Hogget pub, and will soon be joining in with the group Christmas celebration at the Baptist Church, in Gershwin Road, Basingstoke.

The competition for the evening was for a hand-made Christmas decoration, which produced some really lovely exhibits.

Details were given of various events and activities arranged by the federation and group for the forthcoming year, and these, together with the programme arranged for Oakley and Deane WI, should make for a very interesting and busy year.

So why not make it one of your new year resolutions to come and visit and join in?

All visitors will be made most welcome.

The monthly meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at Oakley Village Hall, in Andover Road, from 7.30pm to 9.45pm.
