SATURDAY's events: The Basing Singers autumn concert is at the village hall from 7.30pm. Tickets on the door are £7, or in advance from the Linden Market for £6. Alternatively, there's a 1980s Music Night, with Aquasound DJ Gary at the RBL Social Club. Advance tickets £5, from the club bar.

ST MARY'S Church: On November 2, there will be a 6pm All Souls Eucharist and service for the bereaved.

Prayer requests may be added to the list on the church noticeboard. All Saints will be celebrated on November 4, at both 8am and 9.30am services. The Christmas Bazaar is scheduled for December 1, and the Christmas Tree Festival for December 15, 16, 22 and 23.

METHODIST Church: Please note that local preacher Richard Godfrey has only retired from administrative duties and plans to continue with his other works..

LITTLE Treasures Market: At the village hall on January 27, stall bookings are being taken for the sale of      pre-owned children's toys and equipment. Contact Laura on littletreasuresmarket@yahoo.co.uk.
