VALERIE Hyde: A packed church for Valerie’s funeral with representatives of the church, village hall, parish council, Trefoil Guild and Guiders plus a lot of friends.
She will be sadly missed, not many around now who can cope with her workload of service to the community.
SILCHESTER Players: Present “Wyrd Sisters” today and Saturday, curtain up at 7.30pm. Tickets, adults £8, concessions £6, from 0118 981 5600.
CELEBRATION of 350 years of the Book of Common Prayer at Evensong: On Sunday, at 6pm, in the parish church, led by the Bishop of Basingstoke. Tea and cakes from 5pm and the bells will ring at 5.30pm.
BONFIRE Night: On Saturday, November 10, at Silchester House.
COMMON Working Party: This Saturday, starting at 9.30am. The workers are already preparing themselves – the same could not be said for the church working party when sadly, no one turned up to join Richard. Better luck with the next date!
VILLAGE Market: On November 3, 10am to noon.
