FILM time: The Social and Entertainment Club will be showing the film “Sliding Doors”, starring Gwyneth Paltrow and John Hannah.
Doors (sliding or otherwise) and bar open at 7.30pm, film starts at 8pm. There will be an interval during which icecreams will be served. Tickets are £2 each.
PLANT and produce sale: There is a Plant and Produce Sale, in aid of St Leonard’s, in the churchyard from 11am on Saturday.
Contributions welcome at the lych gate from 9.30am.
TRUST meeting: The Basingstoke Field Society and the Basingstoke branch of the Hampshire Wildlife Trust will hold a meeting at the village hall from 8pm. Brian Clews, of County Ornithological Services, Berkshire, will give a talk entitled ‘Countryside in Crisis’. Tickets £3, and include refreshments.
STARGAZING: Next Thursday, October 11, the Basingstoke Astronomical Society will hold a practical evening at Cliddesden Primary School from 7pm. All welcome.
