MACMILLAN Cancer Support: Thanks to the 32 people who took part in the coffee morning held at my house last Friday, as part of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning.
The sum of £160 has been raised which will help Macmillan provide nurses, therapists and experts support those affected by cancer.
One of the guests, Gill Fearon, said: “It was a great chance to catch up with friends, enjoy coffee and cake and raise some money for this very worthy cause.”
GARDENING Club: Rosie Hardy, winner of 17 gold medals at the Chelsea Flower Show and most gold medals for a woman, was the speaker at the Sherfield Gardening Club’s recent meeting. John says Rosie’s talk was very entertaining and informative and enjoyed by a large audience. She talked about colour combinations. The next meeting will be given by Paulo Arrigo and is “Preserving Produce”.
VILLAGE hall events coming up: Include Happy Faces Quiz on October 20, and Seasonal Sales present their Holly Market on October 27.
