NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch cycle Treasure Hunt: Took place last Sunday. Fun appeared to be had by all. Winners to be announced in next week’s column.
EUROPEAN Day of Languages celebration: Next Saturday, September 29, 6.30pm to 10.30pm, at Christ Church. Tickets cost £10 adult, £4 child, £25 family.
This includes food, soft drinks, a chance to socialise with others and practise your foreign languages, a quiz and even a chance to have a go at some country dancing! For the children, there’ll also be some face-painting. Tickets from Linguatastic on 811100.
CHINEHAM WI: Have done it again on the sporting side with great gusto! Members turned skittle players for their July meeting, with a great turn-out at the Fox at Newfound and its famous alley. The usual hilarity reigned over the event.
Julie Ingoe and Carolyn Guppy took first place in the evening’s events, whilst Sally Dodd came second. Their next event will be on Monday, a celebration of their third birthday, as only the Chineham ladies know how – with wine tasting. Email gillyflowepower@hotmail.com for further information.
