SHERFIELD Show: The annual flowers, produce, crafts, cookery, art and photograph show will be on Saturday, September 1, in the village hall. Entrants are welcome from a 15-mile radius.

PROMS: Last Night of the Proms comes to the village hall on Saturday, September 8, doors open at 7pm. First half is live soloists; second half is Royal Albert Hall on large screen. Dress code is black tie or red, white and blue’. Bring your hampers.

BEER Festival: The village hall plays host to the beer festival on September 22, where there will be 30 real ales, hog roast and live bands.

Tickets £5 in advance or on the door to include festival glass. This year, the beer festival will support St Michael’s Hospice and the village hall. See sherfieldbeer festival.co.uk.

TONIGHT: NWR will discuss the Big Read book “Started Early, Took My Dog” by Kate Atkinson.
