BURNS’ Night celebrations at The Fox Inn: Were well attended by Ellisfield Ladies and friends.
Thanks to Jon and Malcome for a delicious feast. Some braved the haggis, others were more timid and settled for steak pie, but I understand the blackberry and apple flapjack crumble with custard for pud was ‘to die for!
QUIZ: Champions at last Sunday’s pub quiz were The Altonians, with The Eastenders (aka Joanne and Mark, Roger and Christian coming second).
See next week for details of Valentine’s Day special at The Fox.
FARLEIGH Club: I understand last Saturday’s ‘Bat and Trap’ event at Farleigh Barn was a hoot – it sounded rather like a cross between crazy golf and indoor cricket if you can imagine that, the highest scores of the evening went to Donald and Fiona.
Everyone enjoyed Maggie’s delicious curries and £85 was raised for the thatch fund.
The next event will be cocktails and a chocolate fountain on Saturday, February 11, at the club – now that’s an interesting way to celebrate Valentine’s Day.
