WILDLIFE hedge: Four-hundred- and-twenty saplings are due to be planted along the new path by the railway.

Volunteers are needed from 11am until around 4pm on Saturday.

Meet at the St John’s Church car park at 11am or at 2pm, or just walk along the path until you find the work happening.

Bring a fork or spade if you can plus gloves. If the weather is too bad then the work will take place on Sunday or the following weekend, and an update will be put on the board by the pond.

OAKLEY Woodlands Group work parties: In Cowdown Copse on Saturday, from 10am to 1pm.

New volunteers are always welcome to help with the restoration of these ancient woodlands.

Suitable clothing and footwear are required, refreshments and everything else you need will be provided.

MOBILE library: Monday, in Kennet Way, from 10.45am- 1pm.

NEXT Jumble Sale: Saturday, February 11, starting at 2pm, in East Oakley Village Hall, to raise funds for Oakley Bowling Club.

Any donations of jumble can be brought to the hall on the morning of the sale.
