BASINGSTOKE Astronomical Society: Will hold a full meeting tonight, at Cliddesden Primary School from 7pm.
Dr Paul Roche, of the Faulkes Telescope and the National Schools Astronomer, will give a talk entitled “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Neutron Star”.
SHOW time: The Social and Entertainment Club is showing West Side Story! next Thursday, February 2: If you haven’t seen it before, I urge you to get up to the village hall for 7.30pm, in time for a quick drink before the film at 8pm. It’s £2 per person, and there’s ice-cream available in the interval.
ATTEMPTED theft: Rather upsettingly, an attempt was made in the early hours of last Sunday to steal the lead from the roof of the village hall.
Lord Portsmouth’s security firm interrupted the attempt, the police were quickly involved and a car was impounded. PC Reid is confident that the perpetrators will be found.
Meanwhile, Andrew Stanley has made some temporary repairs to keep the hall safe and dry.
