MAROONED: Houses in Northgate Lane were cut off from the rest of the village last weekend as South East Water battled to control a leak in a mains water pipe coming from the Northgate Water Tower.
It was quite amazing to see the road flooded to quite a depth at the top of the hill!
TONIGHT: Ros Wallinger will be giving a talk to the Horticultural Society at the Millennium Hall, Cliddesden, about the authentic restoration of the garden at The Manor House, Upton Grey, designed by Gertrude Jekyll.
Starting at 7.45pm prompt – all welcome. Cost is £1 for members and £2 guests.
QUIZ: Why not put your knowledge to the test with the monthly quiz held at the Fox Inn, Ellisfield on Sunday.
The quiz will start at around 8pm – be there to win!
Participation costs £1 per person, cash prizes for the winning team and runners-up.
