NATIONAL Women’s Register: The theme evening for 2012 is Greece, and hostess will be Anne. The venue is at 9 Longbridge Road.

For more information about this friendly group, which meets on the third Thursday each month, contact 881691.

The themed meeting on February 16 will start at 7.45pm.

NATIONAL Trust: 2011 at The Vyne ended on a busy note with many visitors to the house to see the dining parlour and anti-chapel decorated for the Christmas season.

For the seven-day opening for the 2012 programme up to spring half-term, entry to the gardens will be free and the house price regarded. For opening dates from February 11 to March 2, the hours will be 11am to 3pm and thereafter to 5pm.

DATES to note: June 2 is the important one for the diamond jubilee celebration.
