LODDON Sports: Hosted Reading FC for two days, when the Championship club held a Summer Soccer School on the village green on August 12 and 13.

Fred Berntsen says: “Almost 40 boys between the age of seven and 13 took part in the event.

Soccer skills were demonstrated and the boys thoroughly enjoyed the event.”

Loddon Sports would like to thank all the lads who attended and for the way that everyone behaved. The Reading FC soccer coaches were equally impressed.

HOSPICE: Mary O’Connor says: “Thank you to all the very generous people in the village who this year raised £1,030.02 for St Michael’s Hospice from the door-to-door collection. This is the largest sum collected.”

SHERFIELD Show: This Saturday, the 44th Sherfield Show takes place in the village hall. Entries deadline is noon tomorrow.

On show day, from 8.30am-10.30am, exhibitors display/stage their items; at 2pm, open to the pubic; at 4pm. trophies presented, auction and raffle.
