BLOOD donor session: There appears to be an error in the August edition of the Chineham Chat where it mentions a blood donor session on September 2. The next one at Christ Church is, in fact, on December 29.
CHINEHAM Conservation Group: Meets on Saturday, September 4, for some stream/ pond maintenance work at Tollhouse Meadow.
The work party will toil from 10am to 1pm. All equipment is provided and refreshments too. Children are welcome, but should take an adult with them. Any queries, call Ann on 07963 876440 or Jane on 07835 783369.
ON SUNDAY, September 12, local resident Helen Haider will be doing an abseil down Reading’s tallest building – The Blade – it is said that the building is the equivalent height of 32 double decker buses – in aid of Robbie The Robot at The Royal Berkshire Hospital where she works as a nurse.
Any sponsorship contributions would be very gratefully received. Visit justgiving.com/ HelenHaider or call 358048 for more details. You can also visit royalberkshire.nhs.uk.
Chineham Village Club: Hosts another family disco night on Saturday, at 7.30pm.
