APOLOGIES: For the accidental inflation in last week’s report! Oakley Pedalers South Downs Ride in September requires a deposit of £50 to secure a place, not £100 which crept in by mistake.
Nick is looking for six riders to join him and Ken Venables for the three-day journey starting on Friday, September 10, in Eastbourne and ending at Oakley Village Pond after 100 miles and an ascent of 9,000ft. For more details email nick@dashnet.net or call 780523.
HEALTH walk: Starting from the school lay-by at 2.30pm on Sunday, and lasting about an hour.
VILLAGE family picnic and sports afternoon: At a venue to be announced (somewhere in Oakley). You are invited to bring your own picnic and join in a variety of sports.
Cycling, football and cricket will be on the agenda with other activities depending on numbers.
WELL done: Oakley C of E Junior School girls’ under-11 Kwik Cricket team are National Champions. They won the Hampshire title for the second year running, and having won the Southern Regional title went on to triumph in the National Finals.
