NEIGHBOURHOOD Watch News: Sadly we say goodbye to PCSO Lauren and welcome her replacement PCSO Rebecca.

PC Tracey Read is also off to pastures new but she will not be replaced due to funding cuts.

Though we are promised that back-up will be available upon request, we must obviously be even more vigilant in safeguarding our neighbourhood.

BASING House: This promises to be a busy bank holiday weekend with the three-day Civil War reenactment but residents should be advised that huge parts of the common will not be accessible for dog walking etc for the duration of the event.

THE RBL Women’s Section: Raised an amazing £600 at their recent summer fete and now wish to extend a warm invitation to all at the Crown Lane Hall on September 24, from 7.30 pm, when the Chocaholics will be tantalising the meeting.

VILLAGE Show: Still time to coax perfection from your cherished fruit and vegetables in time for September 5, from 2.30pm at the village hall.

Last-minute details from Steve Layland on 354383.
