THE new pavement link from Stockbridge Close to the bus stop in Thornhill Way: Has been welcomed by many residents, although there is some concern that the build-out into the carriageway presents a hazard for motorists.
TRAFFIC problems: Linked to the drop-off and collection times at the Four Lanes schools.
In the past, Chineham has had a patrol warden on Hanmore Road, outside the entrance to the schools and another has long been sought at the crossing near to the village hall to help make the walk to school safer for children, but sadly, there have been no such wardens for almost two years now.
Please, if you could spare a little time in the mornings and afternoons to fill this voluntary role, PC Jim Charlton (08450 45 45 45 ext 626126) or Four Lanes schools (324256) would be delighted to hear from you.
THE parish council: Has a vacancy for a new councillor.
Contact Karen Ross on 474500 or email clerk @chineham.gov.uk.
CHRIST Church’s TGIF Youth Club: Will be meeting on Fridays, from 8pm to 9.30pm, and is open to all young people at senior school. Entrance is £1.
Regular activities include air hockey, Wii and pool.
