LODDON Players: A spokesman from the Players says: “Unfortunately, due to our small and very stretched membership, we are unable to put on our usual April production.
“However, we are looking forward to making our next production a very special one. To mark our fifth anniversary, we are planning a murder mystery play with supper in the interval. We have yet to decide upon the play. The dates of the production are September 30 and October 1 and 2.”
FRIENDS of the village hall: Held a meeting recently. There was agreement that the jubilee dinner dance was a resounding success and it was unanimously agreed to investigate a similar event in December this year. The barn dance returned a good profit and Pitchfork have been rebooked for next year.
Future activities include the attendance of representatives from the committee at a Hog The Limelight showcase in March.
NWR: Met last Thursday and the topic of discussion was “Heroes and Villains” and not villages as reported last week (my apologies for the mistake).
All members in attendance presented a case for either a hero or a villain and some fell into both categories.
There were some serious suggestions: politicians, martyrs and saints and some more light-hearted suggestions, actors, entertainers and sportsmen.
Next NWR is a theme evening “Back to the 60s” with food, quiz and dress. Details from Gill on 01256 882106.
