BUS service: A new bus service provided by Steventon Transport Services is now running. The route goes from Newfound to the centre of Oakley and then on to Overton. The timetable for this service is on the village noticeboards and also in your copy of the January Link magazine.
“OAKLEY Come Dancing”: Is the invitation with a proposal to hold regular afternoon tea dances in the village.
Various sorts of dance could be catered for including ballroom, sequence and line dancing. The sessions would be fortnightly from 2pm to 4pm. Charges would be kept to the minimum with the help of a raffle. If you would like to take part, please call the organiser on 781031 so that the level of interest can be gauged.
EVERGREEN: If you are living on your own in Oakley there is a group called Evergreen just for you. Run by St Leonard’s Church, Evergreen meets on the first Monday of every month from 3pm to 4.30pm in the Andover Road Village Hall.
Regular outings are arranged and transport is available for anyone who needs it, along with a team of helpers and drivers. Call 781436 to find out more.
JUMBLE sales: This Saturday, at 2pm, in East Oakley Village Hall, in Hill Road, to raise funds for St John Ambulance.
On Saturday, February 13, Oakley Bowls Club will hold a jumble sale in aid of EOVH. Items can be left at the hall from 10am on the morning of the sale.
