DUMMER Summer Fete: After an excellent month or two of fundraising for various village charities, the Dummer Summer Fete is the big one.

It will be held in the traditional garden of Dummer Down House on Sunday, July 12, starting at 2.30pm.

As well as the famous cream teas, there are the usual stalls and some very unusual ones this year. There is also a barbecue and a Pimms stall so, if anyone has Wimbledon withdrawal symptoms, there is plenty of opportunity to sit back in lovely surroundings and pretend that you are at Centre Court.

There is a great “kids” area as well. Dummer is very lucky in having such a plethora of lovely venues in which to hold an annual fete and this year the committees of Dummer Village Hall and All Saints’ Church would like to thank Mrs R Ferguson and Mr A Ferguson.

SINGLE Parish of Farleigh month. All Saints Church is always the first to host these services and this year the theme is Renewal of Baptism. Anyone who has been baptised, no matter what your age, in our very ancient and pretty church in Dummer is invited to attend at 11am on Sunday.

PARISH council: Dummer Parish Council is pushing forward a 20mph speed limit throughout the village, which would be welcomed by all residents. Please try to come along. Without parishioner input they cannot judge what is the best for the village.
