TESCO: Has withdrawn its application for a new store on the old Smiths Industry site. Apparently, the company felt that the case for another supermarket so close to ASDA and Sainsbury’s was not yet made.
HATCH Warren WI: Meet tonight for the July meeting. It starts at 8pm at the community centre.
The speaker for this month will be talking about flower arranging. New members and visitors are always welcome.
ST MARK’S Primary School: Is holding its Fun Day this Saturday. Activities include a raffle, barbecue, a bouncy castle and sideshows. The event starts at 2pm.
SATURDAY Fun Club: The next fun club takes place on Saturday, between 10am and noon.
It takes the form of a craft morning for children. Places need to be booked. Please phone Kim or Clare on 811262.
LEAVERS’ ball: Ex-students from Brighton Hill Community College are getting ready for their leavers’ ball on Sunday. We can expect to see our roads full of limousines, horse-drawn carriages and other exotic modes of transport.
The ball is being held at Oakley Hall.
