ST MARY’S Old Churchyard conservation: The conservation group has entered the Basingstoke in Bloom competition, so to ensure that the churchyard is looking its best, the volunteers will be getting to work at 10am on Saturday.

PLAY it Cool at the Bolton Arms: This Sunday, from 3.30pm listening to “Jazz Me”, an excellent trio to relax with in the shady gardens until 6.30pm.
NATIONAL Gardens Open for Charity Scheme: Come to “Fir Trees” in Bexmoor Way, Old Basing, on July 5 and 7, between 2pm and 5.30pm. Admission £3 with children free, but no dogs. Home-made teas available.
ODIHAM Art Group: Is hosting one of its popular painting days at Farnham Castle on Monday, from 10am to 4pm. If you would like to join this lively group, contact Mary Turner on 01256 703653.
A TRIP to Weymouth: The Ivy Club (over-60s only) welcomes Old Basing and Lychpit residents to its regular Wednesday meetings at the RBL Hall in Crown Lane from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. ST MARY’S Church welcomes Father Mark Jones at his very first Eucharist on Sunday at 11am.
