CAMILLA of the Cream Crinoline: Was a vision in ivory as she floated down the aisle of a floral-bedecked Rotherwick church last Saturday.
Proud parents Tricia and Peter Sydney-Smith looked fondly on as their only daughter wed Ian Brown under the ecclesiastical good offices of the groom’s mother, the Reverend Canon Penny!
We wish the newlyweds all the best as they start their new life together, and a speedy recovery for mum and dad!
VIVE La France: For the first time, the Rotherwick Tennis Club can boast a new French lady champion! Christine Allum, of Erleigh, was among the victorious doubles team to beat a path to the title, partnering the membership secretary Quentin Sharp, who acquires the Gentleman Champion title for at least the second time.
Special mention must also go to young Christopher Allum and new competitor Steve Malt who, in his first tournament, followed Rotherwick tradition by playing as an honourable lady!
Many thanks to Barbara and John Platt, who in addition to playing themselves, also hosted the most amazing barbecue at Church Farm House following the final.
