SUMMER fair: Cliddesden Primary School’s Summer Fair was a great success, as usual.
The ballroom dancing displays from the children, who have been lucky enough to have Neil and Sarka, from Strictly School Dancing, coming to school weekly since the beginning of the academic year, were an absolute highlight.
The fair is always the main annual fundraiser for the school, raising more than £3,000 this year, and it is great to see so many people continue to come along and support it.
COMING up this week: There’s a meeting of the Basingstoke Astronomical Society today, at 7pm at Cliddesden Primary School – everybody is welcome.
HORTICULTURAL Society: On Sunday, the Horticultural Society has organised a visit to Wisley, the RHS’s flagship garden.
It has wonderful rose gardens and borders, and a whole series of model gardens, testing various conditions. Also of interest is their new, state-of-the-art glasshouse. Entry is free for the society.
Meet at the entrance for 10.30am, as this deal is only available if everyone enters as a group, after which everyone can do their own thing.
If you need a lift contact any committee member, and we will try and help. It would be useful to know how many are coming. Contact Meg Freeman for more details.
