GARDENING Club: Sherfield and District Gardening Club meet on Monday, in the village hall at 7.45pm. The speaker for the evening is Stephen Austin, who will be talking about the Beth Chatto Gardens. Stephen is product manager at Hillier Nurseries but he previously worked at Beth Chatto Gardens. For arrangements, please call Vanessa on 881760.
ALLOTMENT competition: Took place in July: first prize Mr and Mrs Weller, second Mrs Beradall, with third prize to Mrs Morse. Mr and Mrs Shaw’s were judged as highly commended.
The Allotment Holders’ AGM will be on October 7, at 7.30pm in the Liddell Hall.
MACMILLAN Coffee Morning: You are warmly invited to coffee and cake in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, September 25, from 9.30am until noon, at 11 Poplar Close. Remember, cake tastes better with you.
BEER Festival: 40 beers and ciders will be available at the beer festival next weekend, Saturday, September 26, from 11.30am-11pm. There will be hot and cold food and live music all day. See sherfieldbeerfestival.org.uk.
