SUMMER Streetz 2015: A free holiday activity programme for ages 11 to 18, run by the borough council, local community safety teams, housing associations and Anvil Arts.
Locally, activities run at the YMCA, in Eastrop Way, from 7pm to 9pm on Tuesdays and Thursdays until August 28.
The programme can be subject to change, but at present forthcoming evenings include yarn bombing, beach party and music workshop sessions. All of these are open access – just turn up and take part. For further information, contact the Streetz team on 844844.
FAMILY Fun! Market Place, at The Top of The Town, has a number of themed family events running from 10.30am to 3.30pm on Tuesdays for the rest of this month.
Tuesday, August 11, is “By the Seaside” with “Pirates and Princesses” on August 18 and “Circus” on August 25.
Activities range from free to £3, and face-painting, glitter tattoos and badge-making all take place each week.
