LOCAL election results: Congratulations to Beggarwood resident Rebecca Bean, who was returned to serve for another fours years as a councillor for Hatch Warren and Beggarwood following the election last Thursday.
CIDER Festival: The Cider Festival, at the Community Centre last Saturday, was a great success – big turnout, music from a live band and lots of delicious ciders to sample, some of which sold out! The next event of this type is the Lager Festival on June 27. Tickets are on sale now. Further details from the community office on 811262.
NEW headteacher: Hatch Warren Juniors will have a new headteacher for the start of the Autumn term. The current interim head, Miss Charman, will be leaving at the end of the Summer term having steered the school to a very good Ofsted report recently. The school has been through the recruitment process and has appointed Edward Dawson, who will join them in September.
