THE Annual Parish Meeting: Was held on Friday, May 8, in the village hall, and attended by about 60 people. Chairman of the parish council, Alan Ball, described the council’s positive achievements over the year. Ivan Gosden gave a report on the village hall’s activities and funding, and then the meeting moved onto a lively discussion, covering such controversial topics as the strategic gap, archive records and the cemetery development, and also the deplorable practice of distributing anonymous propaganda leaflets.
PERCY’S Plant Sale: Was last Saturday, and was very well attended, with some good quality plants on sale and cakes from Bramley Bakery.
Donald said: “About £550 was raised to be split between the Garden Club, the village hall and St Leonard’s Church. It was nice to see Daisy, Percy’s widow, at the sale, after whom this annual village fixture is named.
MAY Market: On Saturday, in the village hall from 10am to 3pm.
