MATERIAL World: Basingstoke Civil Service Retirement Fellowship’s next regular programmed meeting at Brookvale Village Hall takes place at 10am on Wednesday June 3.
It features a talk by Mr and Mrs Tanner entitled Fabulous Fabrics from Arabia and Indonesia.
On June 12, the group is due to visit Studley Grange and Lydiard Park with further events planned for later in the summer. Contact the secretary, Tony Brazier, on 418770 for further information.
COMMUNITY Safety: Recent reports of suspicious activity in George Street, fruit bushes stolen from the community garden at Brookvale Village Hall and the release of CCTV footage of a local shop robbery means it’s timely to remind everyone of the 101 number for reporting concerns to local police.
Residents can also track issues raised and action taken by the police in response by visiting the My Neighbourhood section of Hampshire Constabulary’s website: hampshire.police.uk/internet.
