SOUTH Ham evening bus service: A reminder that Stagecoach operates a No 3 late evening service on Fridays and Saturdays. The late bus departs the railway station at 10.26pm and 10.56pm respectively. This was originally a nine-month pilot scheme funded by the borough council. Due to encouraging passenger numbers the scheme has been extended until August.
SOUTH Ham Churches Lunch Club: The local churches run a lunch club for the elderly on the second and fourth Friday of the month, at St Joseph’s Church, St Michael’s Road, 12.30pm-2pm.
Meals cost £3.50 and must be booked by calling 323595. The next lunch club is today.
VOLUNTEERS required: St Michael’s Hospice Shop, in Kings Road, is seeking volunteers for Saturdays. Just call in at the shop and ask for an application form.
