LENT Lunch: In the church, on Sunday, March 1, also celebrating St David’s Day.

We shall have soup with French bread followed by bara brith! Give your name to Em in church, as places soon fill up. Proceeds for our chosen charity.

ROMAN talk: By Professor Michael Fulford, on what has been achieved last year and many years in the past, will be on Friday, March 27, in the village hall.

ART Exhibition: Saturday, March 28, in the village hall, from 1pm to 5pm.

Nine local artists will show their work, including botanical artist Jenny Jowett, watercolourist Jonathan Savill and many more. This is a new event for Silchester and all the artists would value your support.

SILCHESTER Association: Hosted a meeting for leaders of the many village groups to meet up with each other and share ideas. A good meeting and it’s amazing what is going on in Silchester. This is a village where you can join in almost anything and volunteer for the rest!

I HOPE you all enjoyed Shrove Tuesday and had many pancakes.
