HAPPY New Year, Cliddesdenites!: I have to say, when I moved down here from London nearly eight years ago, I really dreaded the death of my social life. Little did I know!

Thank goodness we’re all back to work and that the thoroughly enjoyable business of drinking in each other’s houses, virtually every night, must at last come to an end!

FILM Screening: Tonight, the Social and Entertainment Club will show Dances With Wolves. This film won a Golden Globe and Oscar for Best Picture (and six other Oscars), so it’s got to be worth a look. Doors at 7.30pm, film at 8pm (finishing around 11.20pm, with interval – long film!), licensed bar and ice-cream, all for a mere £2 entry fee.

PANTO: I’m very pleased to announce that the panto raised over £2,500 for the village hall (final amount tbc). The raffle raised an additional £450-odd, which has been put towards the major set expenditure (proper opening and closing curtains – yesss!), new lights and so forth, so we can continue to improve your viewing experience!
