COMING up: Basingstoke College of Technology has two information evenings over the next few weeks.

On Tuesday, November 18, from 6pm to 8pm, the subject areas are Higher Education courses in business and travel and tourism, and a week later, on Tuesday, November 25, at the same time, it’s the turn of the same level courses in engineering, construction and computer science.

Later in the month, there’s also an Art and Design Taster Day for 14-18 year-olds, from 9.45am to 3.30pm, on Saturday, November 29, which offers three sessions in creative subjects including photography, graphic design, textiles and fashion. Go to bcot.ac.uk/news-andevents/ 2014/11/art-design-taster-day/ for details of how to book.

RECENT Safety Survey: Thanks are due to Brookvale Community Association for its recent safety survey on Worting Road. Over 70 people responded to the survey of whom over half had either seen or, worse still, been involved in a “near miss” on this busy stretch of road. The association is now putting forward the case for speed indicator signs to reduce the risk to both motorists and pedestrians.
