FAMILY activities: With half-term fast approaching, The Willis Museum has a number of family activities in the diary, including a textile art workshop, a brains, bugs and butterflies drop-in, museum by torchlight event and Hallowe’en cup cake decorating. BASINGSTOKE Civil Service Retirement Fellowship: Meets on the first Wednesday of each month, at Brookvale Village Hall, from 10am to noon, with all retired civil servants and their partners welcome. The group’s most recent meeting enjoyed a talk by local speaker Phil Howe on Jane Austen’s Hampshire, and its next meeting, on November 5, has Alan Grace talking on the British Forces Broadcasting Service.
