CONKER competition and fireworks: Saturday night is the extraordinary Cliddesden Conker Competition and Bonfire with Fireworks!
Will Jane French defend her (magnificent, hand-crafted) trophy? Or will some new dark horse wrest it from her?
Will there be oohs and ahhs at the fireworks (well, of course, there will!). Will there be a tent groaning with booze and delicious food?
And will Roy, the Kite Man, do us proud with extraordinary lights, kites and general decorations? I think he just might. Please try and come along and support this local event.
Tickets are a couple of pounds from the kite shop or the Jolly Farmer. Conker challengers play for free – register at the pub or the kite shop, where further information is abundant.
CHURCH service: Sunday’s service at St Leonard’s is a family service and baptism, at 11.15am.
