SCHEDULE of activities: Local conservation group Friends of Loddon Vale Parks has recently issued its schedule of activities through to September 2015.

Events include bat-watching in Glebe Gardens, planting, pruning and tree dressing and there are also opportunities to join in any time. The programme kicks off with Keep Britain Tidy’s “Big Tidy Up” in Glebe Gardens and King George V Playing Fields, meeting at Chute House on Sunday, October 18, at 2pm. Bring gloves, please.

SUGGESTED plan for proposed garden: Green group Incredible Edible has produced a suggested plan for the proposed garden between Brookvale Village Hall and Victory Park and a sub-group of the community association may be formed to take this forward.

Why not post your interest at the “Brookvale – heart of Basingstoke” Facebook page?

The same Facebook page is also canvassing interest in setting up a gardeners’ club.

FUTURE diary date: Rapunzel is at the village hall on Sunday, January 11.
